Before you quote it
- TSA known shipper verification is required to move freight by air. Contact us to confirm whether your shipper is already known with the TSA.
- No hazmat on domestic air shipments.
- Widebody capacity varies by space availability and airline requirements. Special exceptions and advance bookings may be possible for larger dimensions.
- Narrowbody costs roughly 30–40% less than dedicated cargo aircraft — worth checking whether the freight can be broken down to fit.
High-value shipments & liability
Unless excess liability is purchased, standard carrier liability applies:
- $50.00 for shipments of 100 pounds or less
- $0.50 per pound for shipments over 100 pounds
- $150 maximum liability per shipment
Most of our logistics partners use their own supplemental insurance and place it themselves — that is usually the faster path. Coverage is also available through Ace, but it requires a separate policy per shipment, which adds cost and quote time, so flag high-value freight early rather than at booking.
Remember this when you quote your client: air freight declared value and insurance are calculated on a different valuation basis than truck freight. Don't carry your LTL assumptions across — confirm the declared value on the air side before you put a number in front of the customer.
